Editorial Policy

Health information has to be right. This page explains how the CalcMyBaby Editorial Team creates and maintains every calculator and article on this site.

Sources we use

We base formulas and facts on primary, authoritative sources, in this order of preference:

  1. Clinical guidance from professional bodies — ACOG, AAP, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
  2. Public-health agencies — WHO, CDC, NIH/MedlinePlus, FDA and the UK’s NHS.
  3. Peer-reviewed research in established medical journals.

We do not use other calculator sites, forums or marketing material as sources. Every page lists the sources it relies on.

How content is created

  • Each calculator starts from the published method (for example, Naegele’s rule for due dates or the WHO LMS method for growth percentiles).
  • We write explanations in plain language and state the limits of every estimate.
  • We use software tools, including AI, to help research and draft. Every formula, number and claim is then checked by a person against the cited sources before publishing.
  • Calculator code is covered by automated tests using worked examples from the source guidance.

Reviews and updates

We review every page at least once a year, and sooner when guidance changes. The “Last updated” date on each page shows the most recent review.

Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us through our contact page. We investigate every report and correct confirmed errors promptly.

Independence and advertising

Our content is not written or influenced by advertisers. If we ever show ads or affiliate links, they will be clearly labeled and kept separate from our calculators and health information.

Not medical advice

Our tools provide general information and estimates. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice — see our medical disclaimer.
